This Halloween design can be built in many different sizes. The 8′ by 8′ size is likely to be the most popular. We use this version for our RouseCIPIES™ below. It will fit most rooms, will show off well from a distance and yet is small enough to fit easily, with a little bending or folding, through most standard doorways That makes it easier to build off site and bring it in just before your event. It takes five  packages of RMS™ Banners and balloons inflated 4″ in diameter.

Scale it up with Rouse Matrix™ Builders and balloons inflated 8″ in diameter. It takes ten packages of Builders to build this design 16′ by 16′.  You can go larger with RMS Super Builders.

Scale it down to much smaller sizes with RMS Mini-Matrix and bubbles made from twisted long balloons like # 260 and #350 balloons.

"SIMPLE" illustration / logo / icon for RE-A-L™ Balloon Art(A)  ROUSEcipe™ FOR STANDARD DUPLET ASSEMBLY:

(1) BALLOONS
(We have chosen these colors, but you may use colors to match the season and your event.)

  • 168 Purple balloons (5″-6″)
  • 199 silver balloons (5″-6″)
  • 286 Yellow balloons (5″-6″)
  • 169 Black balloons (5″-6″)
  •  86 Gold Balloons (5″-6″)
  •    2 Red balloons (5″-6″) for eyes

(2) Rouse Matrix™ Banners

  • (5) Packages of RMS™’ Banner Expand-And-Load™ panels (2 panels to a package). Connect 9 of the RMS™ Banner′ panels. Connect three side by side in a horizontal line and then two more rows of three directly above them into a group of nine.
  • Be sure that the logo “R” is in the upper left hand corner of each panel. Stretch open the Matrix in sections according to printed instructions that come with the Matrix. If fully expanded, it would look like the illustration below.
  • For loading of balloons, however, we recommend that you rotate the Matrix 90 degrees counter clockwise. This will make it easier to load balloons in straight, horizontal lines.

Assemble 9 RMS™ Banner panels in three rows of three panels with the logo “R” in the upper left hand corner of each panel. Expand Matrix to hold balloons.

  • For our original venue the 8′ by 8′ size fit nicely.  That meant that we cut away the extra Matrix material with scissors. You may prefer to use the full, approximately 9′ by 9′ size of the 9 RMS Banner Panels

(3) LAYOUT FOR LOADING BALLOONS

We rotated this design 90 degrees counterclockwise before spreading it out into rows and then into pairs. Every other row has an odd number, so there is a single balloon at the left end of those rows.

This orientation produces straight, horizontal rows and makes it easier to load balloons.

(4) PREPARE BALLOONS IN PAIRS

Inflate, size & tie balloons in pairs according to your plan and the instructions below.

Inflate and size balloons to 4" after squeezing them .Tie them in pairs to match your plan.

Inflate and size balloons to 4″ after squeezing them .Tie them in pairs to match your plan.

Most balloons are not spheres, but are longer from the inflation neck to the opposite end of the balloon.  Squeezing balloons as show above before measuring them helps to get more accurate sizing.

.

(5) LOAD BALLOONS IN PAIRS

Roll balloons into adjacent openings according to your plan and make sure they are centered in the Matrix straps.

This technique of loading connected balloons in adjacent openings is a Rouse Original Technique and is patented in the USA for use exclusively with Rouse Matrix™ frames. It has advantages over loading balloons in singles:

  • Balloons are tied two at once.
  • Pick up and handle two balloons at once.
  • Load one balloon and the second is right there for loading next.
  • Each balloon acts as an anchor helping to hold the other in place

(6) STAND UP YOUR DISPLAY

Standard installation works well.  On this design we recommend using at least two base plates with vertical poles or pipes behind the display. Use them on the back side of the display. Use one near each end.

You may use cable ties (zip ties / electrical ties), elastic bands or other lines to tie around the vertical element and the Matrix straps between balloons.  We recommend at least three connections on each vertical. Use at least one near the top and bottom and at least one in the middle.

Tighten the connection until balloons are snug against the vertical element. If you tighten it too much you will force balloons out of the Matrix.

"FAST" illustration / logo / icon for RE-A-L™ Balloon Art(B)  ROUSEcipe™ FOR SPEED GRAPHIC™ ASSEMBLY:

(1) BALLOONS

  • They are the same as above except, use Double Ended Balloons (DEBs) Like Quick Link Balloons™ or Link-O-Loons™ rather than standard round balloons.

(2) Rouse Matrix ™ Banners

  • Combine and expand the same as above.

 .

(3) LAYOUT FOR LOADING BALLOONS

  • Rotate the design 90 degrees counterclockwise and spread out the design into rows and then into pairs of balloons as shown above.

.

(4) PREPARE BALLOONS IN PAIRS

  • Inflate, size & tie balloons in sets according to your plan and the instructions above
  • Tie all the balloons in each row into a single string of balloons.

.

(5) LOAD BALLOONS IN STRINGS

  •  Roll balloons into adjacent openings according to your plan and make sure they are centered in the Matrix straps.
  • This 80 seconds video will give you an idea of just how fast balloons can be loaded with this “Speed Graphic™” technique.

You are not likely to be this fast, at least not at first.  It is normal, however to load two to four times faster using this technique.

This technique variation of loading connected balloons in adjacent openings is also a Rouse Original Technique and is patented in the USA for use exclusively with Rouse Matrix™ frames.

.

(6) STAND UP YOUR DISPLAY

  • Standard installation works well. Use the same instructions as shown above.

Whether you choose classic pairs or Speed Graphic strings, you end up with new skills and a fun display MadeWithBalloons™.  Here are some resources to help you get started.
