BUTTERFLY BACKDROP MadeWithBalloons™

BUTTERFLY BACKDROP MadeWithBalloons™

.

This butterfly backdrop MadeWithBalloons™ was shared by Funky Balloons. It makes nice use of shades of purple and gold. The color scheme and butterfly theme are echoed in the cake table in front.

I especially like the effective use of the change of scale in the center of the backdrop. The use of the half size grid within the overall wall allows more detail in the butterfly without requiring four times as many balloons in the surrounding area.

Here is a butterfly installation by Angela Gipson about nine months ago. Angela-Gipson-butterfly-backdrop MadeWithBalloons™It incorporates the same technique and very similar butterfly shape.

Maybe you will want to experiment with a similar technique yourself.

Meanwhile, “Congratulations” to our decorators on good work.

A SERIOUS HEAD MadeWithBalloons™

Here is a serious looking head drawing on a white rd and blue backfround all made with balloons

By Regina Dos Anjoscba

A SERIOUS HEAD
MadeWithBalloons™

Graphics MadeWithBalloons™ logo 2014-08-24

It is a serious looking head that is seriously well done.

I like the bold, clean look of this backdrop graphic wall MadeWithBalloons™ by Regina Dos Anjoscba.

I do not recognize the character in the center, but I am not up to date on the latest superheros, super villains and animated protagonists.

An overlay of smaller red balloons form the outlines of various thickness and draw the head nicely. The extra layer produces shadows that add to the drama.

I also like the way the wall of balloons appears (in the photo) to cover the whole end wall of the room. It adds to the sense that you are not just looking at a picture, but have stepped into a new enviornment, maybe the home of our Serious Head MadeWithBalloons™

Congratulations Regina Dos Anjoscba!

It looks like a construction/plumbing project for Mario. The pipes are wrapped. The pressure gauge is in place. The handle is ready to turn to open the valve. Mario is standing at the ready.

Mario is especially well formed and well dressed.

CONGRATULATIONS BARBARA! MadeWithBalloons™

SBAC logo backdrop MadeWithBalloons™ and Rouse Matrix™ Banner Expand-And-Load™ balloon frames by Barbara Levinson using Rouse "FAST" technique.CONGRATULATIONS, BARBARA
MadeWithBalloons™

Logo of Graphics MadeWithBalloon™ web sitesCongratulations Barbara Levinson of Barbara’s Balloons, Inc., Illinois, USA!

This was Barbara’s first time using RMS™ Banners with the Rouse “FAST” technique and she produced beautiful results in this 12′ by 9′ logo backdrop for the Small Business Advocacy Council.

BSBAC-logo-originalarbara started with this logo design from the Advocacy Council.

The proportions, however, did not match those of the planned 12′ by 9′ display space.

The text area was reduced and the decision was made to do the “Small Business Advocacy Council” in overlay text as adjusted to fit the new proportions.

Rouse Matrix™ Banner graph paper was used to plan the detailed layout. Here are the illustrated steps:

THE GIRL AT THE WINDOW MadeWithBalloons™

Picture of a graphic in relief of girl with flowers at a window all made with balloons

Irina TkatsevichCba post in Qualatex Group

.

Logo of Graphics MadeWithBalloon™ web sites

THE GIRL AT THE WINDOW MadeWithBalloons™

I love the variety of colors, textures and techniques in this miniature scene by Irina TkatsevichCba‎.

One weave makes the blue window, another the yellow window frame.   The white flowers exhibit a clean symmetry while the green foliage churns like a foaming pool below a waterfall.    The red fruit hangs from the vines while the girl’s head is wrapped in a red bonnet.

The tight composition and coverage of the girl leaves one to wonder if, in some magical way, the girl might be a blossom in the bouquet rather than the mistress of the house.

The Geo Blossom balloons make fine wings for the butterfly. The yellow centers suggest more flowers.

The “4” and “5” on the wings of the butterfly set my mind to wondering; is that the house number where this window resides?  Or perhaps, is this design for someone’s  birthday?

In any case, my congratulations go out to Irina on a job well done! Your creation is a delight.

BLUE NUDE MadeWithBalloons™

This is a another graphic designed by Graham and Mary Queen Rouse for the 2002 International Balloons Arts Convention (IBAC).

IBAC was, for 20 years, the annual, premier international balloon convention and the precursor to the World Balloon Convention currently held every other year by Pioneer Balloon Company.

Inspiration piece for a JustRouseIt™, R-E-A-L™ Balloon Art, graphic "Blue Nude" MadeWithBalloons™ and Rouse Matrix™ BannersThe painting to the left, chosen by Rocky Toomey, was the inspiration for the design above. It was one of a group of paintings reproduced with balloons in Rouse Matrix™ Expand-And-Load™ balloon frames for the final night gala gallery of balloon art.

The final version (below) (9′ by 12′) that was installed for the event was a simplified version of the design above.

Many of the “Split Apertures” that were planned for the design were sacrificed to save time.

Photo of the final installation of a JustRouseIt™, R-E-A-L™ Balloon Art, graphic "Blue Nude" MadeWithBalloons™ and Rouse Matrix™ Banners“Split Aperture” refers to filling an opening in the Matrix with more than one balloon so that thinner lines could be drawn and curves smoothed out. They can be very effective but do require extra materials and effort.

You may download free instructions for Split Apertures from this link.

.

GETTING BETTER

IBAC 2002 was a great experience and we produced some fine balloon art for the final night gala, but I do wish that we had then the knowledge, skills, balloons and tools we have today. We could have done it all so much more easily and quickly

The Conwin inflators were a great boon then and we still use them today, but the newer versions of the Split Second Dual Sizer are easier to use.

The Rouse Matrix™ we used then was in about the second generation. We are now into the “G-4”, fourth generation. RMS™ G-4 is thinner, lighter, more compact, translucent, holds balloons better, connects more easily and securely, is easy on the hands, costs less in uninflated dollars and comes in a gazillion variations (well, really only 140+, but that is still a lot).

Double-ended balloons such as Link-O-Loons™ and Quick Link Balloons™ were not available for this event. Bee bodies (#321 balloons) were available but in only one, small size and limited colors. Link-O-Loons™ were just being developed in Mexico and Australia; and Quick Link Balloons™ were still more than a decade away.

.

"FAST" illustration / icon for RE-A-L™ Balloon Art techniques with Rouse Matrix™ Expand-And-Load Balloon FramesRouse “Speed Graphics” had not been developed either.

This “FAST” technique, as we refer to it, uses strings of double-ended balloons and rolls connected balloons into adjacent openings in Rouse Matrix. With a little practice you should double or quadruple your balloon loading speed.  But, it is possible to get much faster than that as shown in this short video.

.

COMBINING ADVANCES

If we had then, the advanced equipment, balloons, expandable frames and FAST techniques of today; we could easily have saved between 50% and 90% of the time we spent loading balloons. And, that would have been a lot of time saved considering the scale of the decorations for the gala.

No telling what marvelous things we might have added to the decor with all those extra man hours.

No telling what marvelous things you might add to your decor or additional profits you might add to your bank account by using these same advances in your balloon work today.

We wish you luck and recommend these resources to help you get under way:

A HAPPY SCENE MadeWithBalloons™

Happy Scene MadeWithBalloons™

HAPPY SCENE

Logo of Graphics MadeWithBalloon™ web sites

This happy scene MadeWithBalloons™ was shared by Aninha Faria Figadoli along with Adriana Sedlak.

The square grid provides the basic building blocks for the scene. It appears that Rouse Matrix honeycomb grid pattern was used for the pig and the sun overlays. Then, it looks like more traditional garlands and clusters for the rainbow and trees.

I like the mixture of textures, patterns and techniques. And, the #260 balloons are used nicely for drawing details on the house and the pig.

It looks like a fun setting from a comic book or a children’s animated cartoon. Only, it has come alive to delight those who enter the room.

Congratulations to the team who designed and built this Happy Scene MadeWithBalloons™!
